Dr Christopher Aylwin is a consultant in vascular and trauma surgery at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. His training was in vascular surgery in the North East Thames region. He has a particular interest in major trauma and was trained at the Royal London Hospital, as well as a year’s trauma fellowship at the Trauma Unit of Groote Schuur Hospital, Cape Town.
He also supplemented his training with a vascular fellowship at St Thomas' Hospital. He has an active interest in education and training, having completed an MA in Clinical Education at the Institute of Education. He has published several papers on aspects of trauma, including the 2005 London bombings. Research interests include trauma training, and metabolic profiling of trauma patients.
