Dr Clive Lewis MA MB BChir PhD FRCP FFICM
Consultant Cardiologist and Transplant Physician, Papworth Hospital
Dr Lewis is a consultant cardiologist and transplant physician, specialising in advanced heart failure, cardiomyopathies, cardiothoracic transplantation, mechanical circulatory support and cardiothoracic intensive care. His Fellowship at Great Ormond Street Hospital, led him to have a special interest in the health of young people, transition from paediatric to adult care and he leads the adult congenital heart disease service.
He is deputy Medical Director, Lead Appraiser and Director of Medical Education. He holds the position of University of Cambridge Associate Lecturer and Senior Clinical Tutor. Nationally, Dr Lewis has held a number of positions, including Congenital Heart Clinical Reference Group, Council membership of the Royal College of Physicians of London, the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges and the Postgraduate Medical Education and Training Board.
Dr Lewis completed his PhD thesis in 2003 on molecular aspects of receptor signalling in heart failure and maintains research in the field of heart failure, congenital heart disease and heart transplantation. He has published widely and continues to lecture and teach nationally and internationally.
