Dr Pollock qualified in Medicine from the Royal London Hospital 1976. His initial medical training included working in obstetrics & gynaecology and a period working as a General Practitioner in Canada.
He subsequently trained in paediatrics mainly in London teaching hospitals, but also included a period as a senior resident in Boston Childrens Hospital, USA.
Dr Pollock undertook research at the Brompton Hospital, London with Professor John Warner into food and food additive intolerance and house dust mite allergy and gained accreditation in general paediatrics.
He was appointed a Consultant Paediatrician in 1993 in London and during most of the time since has been Chair of department and/or Clinical Director. HIs post is now part of the Royal Free Hospitals Trust, one of the largest trusts in the NHS.
Dr Pollock works in 1- 3 paediatric allergy clinics per week, a general or asthma clinic and also works as a Consultant Paediatric Allergist at St Mary's Hospital Paddington. He continues allergy research and publications into new treatments for eczema.
