Dr Ilan Lieberman MB, BS, FRCA, FFPMRCOA

Consultant in Anaesthesia & Pain Management, South Manchester University Teaching Hospital NHS Trust

Dr Lieberman was appointed as a Consultant in Pain Medicine and Anaesthesia in 2001. He trained in London and the Northwest of England.  His NHS base is University Hospitals of South Manchester where he was appointed as a Consultant in 2001. He worked as the clinical lead of the Multi-disciplinary Chronic Pain Service from 2003 – 20014. He is now the Clinical Director for Integration for South Manchester.

He sees and treats chronic non-malignant pain conditions on a daily basis both in the NHS and Privately. The types of pain condition he manages regularly include whiplash, back pain, neck pain, musculo-skeletal pain, neuropathic pain, complex regional pain syndromes (RSD, CRPS), fibromyalgia, osteoarthritic pain, myofascial pain syndromes & post surgical pain problems.

He has worked as a medico-legal expert in Pain Medicine for over 10 years. He is able to advise and report on all of types of chronic pain conditions.

Beyond Pain Medicine, he has a particular interest in digital healthcare. He sits on the Telehealth Committee of the Royal Society of Medicine and is a Theme Lead for the GM IoT Health and Social Care City Verve Project.
