Consultant Neurosurgeon, The Royal London Hospital

Mr Chris Uff is a consultant neurosurgeon based at the Royal London Hospital where he is Head of Neurotrauma and Neurovascular Surgery. He is also an Honorary Senior Lecturer in Neurotrauma at the Trauma Sciences Centre, The Blizard Institute, Queen Mary University of London.

He specialises in the treatment of severe head injury and in the treatment of subarachnoid haemorrhage, the surgical treatment of stroke and other brain vascular malformations including Arterio-Venous Malformations (AVMs) and Cavernoma.

He attended medical school in St Andrews and Manchester before surgical training in East Anglia and Neuroaurgery training in London. He completed his PhD at the Institute of Cancer Research in 2011 and a fellowship in vascular neurosurgery at Kings college Hospital in 2014.

His academic interests include head injury outcome, the inflammatory response and genetics of head injury and microvascular imaging in the brain.
