Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, Torbay Hospital, Torquay.
Mr Ashworth trained in trauma and orthopaedic surgery in Oxford and was a Fellow in joint revision & sports medicine surgery in Adelaide, Australia (1998). He was appointed as a consultant at Torbay Hospital in 1999.
His special interest is in young adult hip disease. (He was one of the first surgeons in the UK to offer both open and arthroscopic surgery for hip impingement pain. He has over 10 years of experience of arthroscopic hip surgery and 8 years of experience of hip impingement surgery.)
His other special interests include primary, complex primary & revision joint replacement of the hip and knee; and unicompartmental knee replacements. He also performs knee arthroscopy, knee ligament reconstruction and cartilage regrowth surgery.
Mr Ashworth was the Clinical Director of the Trauma and Orthopaedic department at Torbay Hospital from 2010 until 2013.
