Mr Nicos Kessaris BSc, MBBS, MSc, FRCS(Gen Sur)

Mr Kessaris undertook his undergraduate medical degree at St George’s Hospital Medical School, University of London. He spent the last two years at Guy's and St Thomas’ and Hammersmith Hospitals before completing his Specialist Registrar training in General Surgery and Transplantation.
He became a Consultant in 2007 at the Renal Transplant Unit at St George’s Hospital, until 2012. Mr Kessaris was the Director of Transplantation for the last two years. During that time he successfully established the ABO and HLA incompatible kidney transplant programs and participated in a number of national research studies.
Mr Kessaris has been a Consultant at Guy's & St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust since April 2012. He specializes in kidney, pancreas and paediatric transplantation. He also performs hand-assisted retroperitoneoscopic live donor nephrectomy, vascular access, peritoneal dialysis catheter insertion, parathyroidectomy and general surgery for renal patients. He is an Honorary Consultant at Great Ormond Street Hospital and an Honorary Senior Lecturer at King’s College, London.
Mr Kessaris is a member of the British Transplantation Society, the European Society for Organ Transplantation, the American Society of Transplantation, The Transplantation Society as well as the International Pediatric Transplant Association.
