Mrs Jane Ash  RM, BSc, BSc

Midwifery Leader, East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust

Mrs Jane Ash qualified as a midwife in 2007, and has gained in-depth experience across all areas of maternity care provision in a variety of trusts.  She currently leads the high-risk Central Birth Suite at ELHT, which cares for nearly 7000 women giving birth each year within an area with high rates of socioeconomic deprivation, ethnic diversity and associated co-morbidities.

Her specialist area of interest is high-risk midwifery, including the management of obstetric emergencies and the provision of complex intrapartum care, which stems from her involvement with the original PROMPT team during her training at Southmead Hospital, Bristol.

Mrs Ash is also experienced in homebirth and midwifery-led care.  She is lead midwife for intrapartum guidelines and care pathways within ELHT and is heavily involved in risk management; including case reviews and root cause analysis.
