Mrs Linzi-Ann Shone
Senior Ward Sister (Stroke Ward), Bronglais General Hospital
Mrs. Linzi-Ann Shone qualified as an RGN (Adult) at the University of Wales college of medicine in 1996. She spent 3 years as a staff nurse and senior staff nurse on an invasive cardiology ward at Bristol Royal Infirmary.
Relocating to West Sussex in 1999, Linzi began a 15-year career in critical care in Chichester at St. Richards hospital. Starting as a staff nurse and progressing to Junior sister within the following 5 years. Mrs Shone organized a transfer medicine course for critical care and taught legal and ethical aspects of health care on an accredited high dependency nursing course.
In 2007 Mrs Shone relocated to Mid Wales, taking the position of Junior Sister in Critical care with Hywel Dda University Health Board, based in Bronglais district general hospital in Aberystwyth. In this role she set up a staff development program to ensure education within critical care and is a teacher and assessor on the RAMCI course, affiliated to Swansea University (Rapid assessment and treatment of the critically ill patient) to diploma and degree students.
In 2014 Mrs Shone was promoted to senior ward sister in Hyper acute stroke care, stroke rehabilitation and general medical nursing. She has begun a ward based teaching program, participates in stroke research programs and has a passion for patient centered, high quality care. Her current role has seen her involved in international recruitment, Hydration pilot studies which have been introduced across Wales, and also represents the health board at national acuity events.
In 2013 Mrs Shone began an MSc in Advanced practice at Swansea University which is due for completion in 2017.
